The Refugee Crisis from a Syrian Perspective

The surge in the number of people travelling the deadly, irregular routes to Europe this summer has exposed a lack of understanding and preparedness for asylum and migration issues. Particularly, many outside Syria seem to have simplistic or flawed views of the reasons why Syrians are leaving their country or safer countries like Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon, and what these asylum seekers go through until they reach their destination in Europe. Four Syrians, three from CEU and one asylum seeker in Hungary, talk about their experiences and discuss what many Syrians want to see as a response to the ever worsening humanitarian crisis in their country.
