Rumi Akter is a graduate from the School of Public Policy, Central European University (CEU), Budapest, Hungary, with a degree of MA in Public Policy. Rumi completed her MSS and BSS in International Relations from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She also holds a Post-Graduation Diploma in Genocide Studies from the Centre for Genocide Studies (CGS), University of Dhaka. Currently, she works as a research intern with the Center for Media, Data, and Society (CMDS), School of Public Policy, Central European University.
Before joining CEU, Rumi was a Research Assistant at the Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA). She also worked with the Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), BRAC University, and the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP).
Her research interest includes Policy Research, Environment and Climate Change, Human Rights, Rohingya Refugees, Geopolitics, Bangladesh, and China Studies.
